This is a beautiful lodge as well as the location. Our time there was amazing. The views of the river and mountains are spectacular!!! Great area for walks, hikes and fishing and a special place for avid hunters.
I'd been out in the area for business functions a couple of times in recent years, and had used John Perry's fishing guide services and stayed once at the Clark Fork River Lodge. When a couple of friends and family members started talking about putting a fishing trip together, the Lodge was at the top of my list of recommendations. A quick email to John Perry had our arrangements confirmed in a few days. As I expected, all involved came back from our early September excursion in total awe of the area, the fishing, the accommodations and the people--great guides and cooks! When the members of our travel group talk about it today, all agree it was a trip of a lifetime. If you're looking for the Montana mountain wilderness experience, yet you don't want to sacrifice 21st century amenities, the Clark Fork River Lodge offers just the right combination.
My family and friends and I stayed at the Clark Fork River Lodge for a full week in August, 2014. We had a full house for most of the time and the lodge was large enough to accommodate all of us. It was beautifully situated on the Clark Fork. The walk down to the river needed to be navigated carefully, but nobody fell or injured themselves on it. Once on the river, there was ample space for fishing, floating, or just sitting back and enjoying the scenery. The girls in the group visited the Superior Rodeo on a Friday night and had a blast. The boys rafted down the Flathead and also had a great time. Both were pretty close and did not require too long of a drive. St. Regis is only about 10 minutes away and great for grabbing the essentials. I would absolutely recommend the Clark Fork River Lodge for those trying to getting away from it all who enjoy the outdoors.
Owner is extremely good to work with. This location is set up as an amazing hunting/fishing lodge. At this time would not recommend for families with small children , however owner is working to make improvements so it can be more family friendly. If you are looking to get away and spend quality time with your family this is the place for you. Great access to multiple rivers and Glacier National Park(2 hrs) - Plains was a really nice surprise. Great people, grocery store and church. Stang's in St Regis is a amazing store with the best people who go out of there way to help you enjoy the area. Great fishing and wildlife- caught fish, saw Bald Eagles, Beavers, Elk and deer. Also found out the Montana Railway is the #1 train watching destination according to a train magazine my step father receives which was very cool as the trains are a short walk from the property and run throughout the area. Lastly be aware even in middle of June the highs can only reach into the 50's and the lows into the lower 40's/upper 30's . Just make sure you check before you go so you have the correct clothing.
Our family has enjoyed several stays at the Clark Fork River Lodge. We always are very pleased with the spacious accommodations. The lodge was well supplied and very clean with plenty of linens. I would recommend spending a day biking the Hiawatha Rails to Trails, everyone's favorite next to fishing the Clark Fork River.
The trip to the lodge will be some of my best memories! When I first pulled up to the lodge, all thoughts of work, bills and the rat race of life left my mind. It was so peaceful. The wonderful guides did such an amazing job of making sure it was an awesome trip. Thank you for taking care of us up there. Hope to be back!
We had heard so much about the lodge so we were so excited to finally be there! It is absolutely fabulous! Thanks so much for the pleasure!
This place is breathtaking!! I know that my wife and I will make this our anniversary spot again and again, and hopefully many vacations with our children. My wife is from Florida so any chance I can give her a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing piece of Montana, I do. Thank you! This is definitely a piece (peace!) of heaven!!
